Anna Zett 2014, 47 min, English
The trans-genre film This Unwieldy Object performs a personal investigation into the colonial phantasy of the dinosaur. You follow the filmmaker-as-protagonist on a road trip into the dusty heart of the USA, where fossil traders, sculptors and scientists are trying to reconstruct the plot of natural history, the plot of progress. At a Berlin wall memorial in South Dakota the rushed forward movement comes to a halt, but the journey continues.
