You can build your own cheap glidecam using parts from hardware store. Use a threaded bar, a small ball bearing (skate bearing for example), PVC pipe of three different diameters, duct tape, super glue, bolts, nuts, washers, pieces of laminate flooring.
I used a jigsaw and a drill for the workload.
