Jomo Kwame Sudaram is Assistant Secretary General for Economic Development in the United Nation's Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA). He is also the founder and Chair of IDEAs, International Development Economics Associates. He has previously served as a Board member of the UN Research Institute on Social Development (UNRISD) and was Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur.
Justin Yifu Lin is World Bank Chief Economist and Senior Vice President, Development Economics. He was previously Professor of Economics and Founding Director of the China Centre for Economic Research (CCER) at Peking University. Mr. Lin holds a PhD in economics from the University of Chicago and is the author of 18 books, including The China Miracle: Development Strategy and Economic Reform.
Prabhat Patnaik is a professor at the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning in the School of Social Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, where he specializes in macroeconomics and political economy. He serves as Vice-Chairman of the Kerala State Planning Board and is a member of the U.N. task force to recommend reforms of the global financial system.
Joseph E. Stiglitz is a University Professor of Economics and Chair of the Committee on Global Thought at Columbia University and a Nobel Prize recipient. His book Globalization and Its Discontents (Norton, 2003) has sold more than one million copies worldwide. His most recent book, Freefall: America, Free Markets, and the Sinking of the World Economy (Norton), was published in 2010.
