On Wednesday, March 31, Salifu Kamara, a student at Clark University will be coming to speak to the eighth graders about his experiences as a child soldier in the Sierra Leone civil war and his current mission. If anyone has read Ishmael Beah's memoir A Long Way Gone, you may be familiar with this topic. Unlike Beah, Kamara fought for the Revolutionary United Front, otherwise known as the rebel army, but shared similar experiences during the war.
Kamara will be speaking in Walker Gallery from 11:50 - 12:40. Although there may be limited seating, if you would like to hear Kamara speak and are free during that time, please feel free to join us.
