One example from the series of Mitre10 Mega DIY Commercials I edited. This series featured actual sales people from the local store providing DIY tips for ads broadcast on Channel 9 (in a series that ran between 2005-2006).
In this case I didn't go out to shoot this material but instead was provided a large pile of footage to go through every few months and make a series of 1 minute long commercials from them. As they were the main sponsor of the Local News these were very important as one would play each night before the news broadcast. In the end I think I cut about almost two dozen of these in total between the middle of 2005 and middle of 2006.
Aside from editing the commercials to fit the format and to time, I also was required to make the graphics including name keys and subtitles plus any other display graphics for items on sale or competitions that were advertised within the commercials.
In this example Stephen, again one of the actual staff from the local Mitre10 Mega Hardware store, shows how to easily fill a gap with an easy gap filler and doing so with clean edges.
Excuse any possible issues with quality, this is coming from material captured from different archival formats. 4:3 converted to 16:9
