Just came back from demoing my Markerbot 3D printer at the nationallabday.org event.
Shira Lazar did a broadcast piece on the event and and a live-blog piece with Bill Nye, Bill turned out to be a very cool guy, and he really know his stuff. He immediately picket up on and understood the issued involved with cooling ABS etc.
Hanna Daryl stopped by to understand how this worked, and promptly asked why I was not printing PLA instead, and pointed out not to use corn based PLA, Im totally with her on that, it is plainly criminal to use food for making plastic disposable products in a starving world. I got to explain some of the future possibilities of the 3D printing technology to a lot of very cool actors.
I did not realize how fancy a even it was when signing up for this, next time somebody please tell me to shave first.
Oh and next time, Im going to ask what the event is about, because I looked like a deer in the Headlights when Shira asked me on camera what part of the NationalLabday mission I was most excited about... sh*** somebody tell me what nationallabday is... like yesterday.
