A basic highlight reel of footage I shot at the Queenstown Winterfest 2005. The majority of the shoot took place on a Canon XL1s with secondary cameras provided by other crew.
The purpose was to shoot stories and material for a series to be screened in Dunedin, funded entirely by the energy drink 'V' via Frucor Beverages. The show was put together by myself and other people involved in the 2005 season of Cow TV. While 3 episodes were planned, production issues that arose back in Dunedin after the shoot meant that only two finished episodes were completed. Thankfully as the 3rd episode was already planned beyond the required contract (1 hour or 2x half hours) this wasn't a problem. It was a shame however as we shot and began to edit more than we fit into just the two episodes and I would have loved to have gotten that third episode out.
This edit was done after the episodes were complete as a show reel for the 2006 year in case the project was to be renewed for another event. Sadly due to funding changes, this never happened. The highlights reel was still screened on the 2006 CowTV season because their producer and some presenters were still in attendance and did their own stories for that show instead.
The backing track is Foo Fighters 'Overdrive' from their album 'One By One' - it is being used as non-profit and simply as an example of my previous work for broadcast in New Zealand (where its use was covered under a blanket APRA commercial license).
Please excuse the mixed quality of the material, it comes from various archives. 4:3 converted to 16:9.
