In this teaching Dr. Don G. Pickney reveals the divine plan and purpose for His very best for the Church. Using the line of Judah to connect Christ (and every believer) to the Abrahamic Covenant, at the time of the exaltation of the Lord Jesus Christ, an Ax was laid at the systemic root of Abraham, making void any trust in Abraham for connection to the Covenant. Under the New Covenant the blessings of Abraham flow no longer through Abraham but ONLY from the root of the Covenant through the line of Judah, then through the "Jesse Stem," into Jesus Christ and the "branch" (the Church - ecclesia) feeding life to the "seven branches" of the ecclesia set up out of the Throne of God (these seven divisions of ecclesia together fulfilling God's great Church plan of which Jesus is the Head.
In Matthew 3:10, John the Baptist prophesied the "cutting off" of the main stem (vine) of dependence upon Abraham from his (Abraham's) Covenant roots.
Matthew 3:10 AMP "And already the ax is lying at the root of the tree...and is cut down and thrown into the fire." Barnes Commentary suggests: "The axe is laid at the root of the tree - Laying the axe at the root of a tree is intended to denote that the tree is to be cut down. It was not merely to be trimmed, or to be cut about the limbs, but the very tree itself was to be struck."
Picture a "heart bypass" where an a main artery is cut off and a substitute artery is provided to bypass the "clogged" passage of blood. In just this way you have God's plan to cut off all dependency upon Abraham for blessing, and send the "Blessing of the Abrahamic Root" through another passage (providing a New Covenant stemming from the original roots Covenant). That new artery for the passage of THE BLESSING flowed through the line of Judah, to the "stem of Jesse," into a "rod - Jesus of Nazareth" and into the "branch" which grew out of Christ, the Church.
It is by this great system of THE BLESSING that God will fulfill a "moed" (Hebrew), a "set time" or "event" known in scripture as the Day of Jehovah Tsaba (Day of the Lord of hosts).
