Andy Wolf Eyewear. That means unique glasses, handcrafted in Hartberg, Austria. Founded by three friends Andreas, Wolfgang, and Katharina to produce classic and contemporary frames for individuals.
In 2006 the three sat down for a meal with meat and fish from local meadows and waters, market-fresh vegetables, and good Austrian wine from the kind of vintner you know personally. There was one question at that table: Why aren’t glasses made that way – personal, natural, and familiar? No sooner said than done, we established our offices at the Ökopark in Hartberg, which perfectly fit our beliefs. The local production know-how was very practical too, since there have been production sites here for over 40 years. Back in 2006 there were 17 people working here, now there are 50. Our start was hard, because prices just have to be higher if your production is completely in Austria. Also the era of nerd glasses, so popular today, hadn’t come yet. Now we’re represented in over 38 countries. We’ve still stayed together as a family, which includes a fair and amicable relationship to our clients. Our representatives need to be just as crazy as we are, that’s very important to us.
Our glasses are crafted exclusively in Austria. From design to prototyping, production and distribution, everything is handled here, by us. Only the acetate for our frames is sourced from Italy, simply because they have the finest. This way our classical and headstrong frames are not just pretty, but also durable and sustainable.
