WSCR-670 The Score and CBS Radio Chicago hosted the Second Annual LAP Chicago All-Star Softball Challenge on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Schaumburg Boomers Stadium. The event featured Chicago
Northside and Southside baseball legends, including Scott Podsednik, Jermaine Dye, Ozzie Guillen, Gary Matthews Jr. and Carlos Zambrano coming together for an exciting day of softball, all while
raising money for charity. Prior to the game, young fans had the chance to take part in an on-field baseball skills clinic hosted by the Bulls/Sox Academy. Kids experience the true nature of
baseball through base running, batting, and fielding drills alongside their White Sox and Cubs heroes.
The Bulls/Sox Academy, located in Lisle, Illinois, is owned and operated by the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox. The Academy runs extensive and fun training programs in basketball, baseball, fastpitch softball, and sports conditioning for boys and girls from beginner to professional. There are additional Bulls/Sox Academy locations in Glen Ellyn and La Grange.
