The RF-70 is a 70" flying delta wing exclusive only to RoboFlight ! Constructed of a 2.0 dense foam, this aircraft provides a durability that surpasses most others. Denser foam means end users aren't required to apply exterior laminate during construction, equating to shorter build times and lower dry weight. Less weight in turn also means longer flight times, slower stall speeds for shorter landing distances and gentle touch downs. The RF-70 can carry payloads of up to 5 pounds while still offering extensive flight duration.
A 70" wingspan means the RF-70 is capable of flying where other smaller UAVs are not able, particularly in wind above 30 mph, meaning you can get complete your missions when it is often times matters the most. When disassembled, the RF-70 becomes two separate wings and the fuselage, resulting in an extremely portable aircraft for ease of transportation.
The RF-70 was designed to provide a professional aerial remote sensing and mapping platform. It features 4 separate payload bays, capable of holding more than 375 square inches and 6 pounds of payload. Important is its wide central bays that allow for oversized camera sensors in a landscape installation configuration compared to other platforms. A landscape positioning is vital in maximizing the flight time to imagery capture ratio as well as proper creation of post flight orthomosaic creation.
Unlike many competing aircraft, the RF-70 has been tested for a bungee cord launch.. This eliminates the need for the end user to have to rely upon a bulky, heavy launch system that can be costly, cumbersome, and often unreliable. (See our "VIDEOS" page for sample launch videos).
