The Inauguration in Enebyberg, Sweden, of the Sculpture in Memory of Stig Dagerman, May 2014
During his last few years, the author Stig Dagerman (1923-54) lived and worked in Enebyberg, a suburb north of Stockholm. Dagerman’s literary work is still published in new editions and in translations into other languages.
In 2004, 50 years after his death, a park was here dedicated to Stig Dagerman and has carried his name since then. In 2014, the sculpture Manuskript, made by the artist Lars Kleen, was inaugurated – a monument to commemorate the author.
It originated from an initiative by the Friends of the Enebyberg Library in collaboration with the Enebyberg Manor Association and the municipality of Danderyd, together with the support of 125 private donors comprising both enterprises and individuals.
Speaker: Helge Skoog
