Jan 20, 2010, Footwork Bar in Toronto, Canada held a fundraiser for Haiti relief, and raised $8-10000 for MSF. I was invited in to tell the story.
The week after that shoot, I came across the footage shot by the only film school in Haiti...
the story, for me, instantly changed.
The only way I could make sense of the brutal, inspiring reality on the ground, alongside a distant fundraiser in a night club 2000 miles away, was the way MUSIC brought people together in united efforts in both cases.
Just as engineers rebuild homes and doctors rebuild bodies...its the singers & dancers - the DREAMERS, who rebuild COMMUNITIES when the world is in ruins.
as fellow dreamers - we support you.
