"Too Loud a Solitude" is a short novel by Czech author Bohumil Hrabal. A paper crusher lives in a Prague cellar among old paper and books. He contemplates the ideas he's found in the thousands of books he has saved from destruction. The stories and witnesses of the old world, are his only signs of hope. For his world is threatened by a new order.
