"It can be very exciting when you’re working with large animals. It’s a wonderful game, it’s a dance, to get inside a wild animal’s fear and it can be a process of hours. Sometimes it takes days, sometimes it takes weeks.
Method: When I was working in the Kalahari Desert, I selected a water hole and made that my own and showed myself there every morning and every evening for weeks on end, and...after a while, the animals were really not paying attention to me...It led to a very startling, more intimate perspective on them than if I had been sitting there in a Land Rover...You feel the same thing the animal is experiencing--you’re part of the environment." - Frans
