Introducing a new range of cellphones that work with two lines from two different mobile companies, our client Fravega (with Nacho Pedemonte’s creativity), engaged us to produce this funny campaign of four spots where two chips compete to win the customer. For character design we wanted to maintain chip morphology with as little modification as possible. From there on we chose to keep the plastic stiffness, adding legs with a lot of flexibity and two big eyes in order to create expressions for facial gesture. As these spots were very short pieces, we needed to generate fast and electric animations. This dynamic animation was also applied to the camera movements that pass from one camera set up to the other in only a few frames. Environments had to be minimalistic, with very few elements which meant that all the emphasis would be on the characters.
Without having much knowledge on martial arts, it was very funny for our animators’ team to imagine kung fu’s punchs and kicks and UFC!
