Greenhouse Effect Hit well with "Racers" from 1987. The Very Well Seen Los Angeles band are known for a Very large and Diverse Collection of Songs and this Track is easily One of their best and Most Surfed on the web. This depressing Grunge Rock anthem sounds as if it was recorded in a Garage with Maybe Shel Talmy twiddling the knobs in 1966...- Four Years before Nirvana in 1987 !!... The self loathing and self pity revealing lyrics go well with the David Bowie like Singing as Clark Hagins seems to be narrating his own Musical demise which make this song a way "ahead of its time" alternative rock indie anthem for the 1987/88' era and during the midst of Los Angeles' big haired heavy metal Sunset Strip days,..makes this thing a curious spectacle indeed. The "wtf" shockingness of this track makes it make Joy Division look downright Positive in comparison ! Equal parts the Replacements, Surf-Music, Early David Bowie, Bauhaus, Morrisey, and Grunge make this suicidal mud rock anthem a thing of glorified internet treasure Pleasure !! This is an unusual "art-rock" song for G.e. - no,..it certainly does NOT sound like their norm,...but then again neither does "Brandy". The sad story seems to collide with the Surf tinged hard rock guitar from Phil Keegan beautifully. Keegan literally lays waste of this song with a long chaotic guitar solo which sounds as cat strangling and painful as Hagins' lyrics and singing. This muddy Song is also yet somehow bright and melodic making it an extremely striking and noticable Song of cyberspace !! "Alternative Commercial music" for alternative commercial people ,..if ever such a thing existed !! The "Right-wing spirited Clark the Shark- utopia" is clearly neglected here ,..in order to get out and across this brilliant emo rock idea which is now a web standard !! "Racers is definitely filled with fear, doubt, pain, sloth, garage angst, South Bay Surf, loathing, drugs,..you name it,...its absolutely a psychedelic rock masterpiece ,...its brilliant" says Clark Hagins in 2007. "We started it all,...the Music industry definitely observed G.e. and they picked our tree clean,...but knowing that Our community back in the South bay knows the whole deal,...and knowing that so many millions of people all around the whole world - from New Jersey to Finland to Japan ,...they love G.e. - thats ALL that matters to me now at age 45 in 2010" says Higgins "We now have the Love of the people,....I can't ask or pray for more than that !!" Greenhouse_Effect's Music on the web is a breath of fresh air in a world of hip hop and silly home Videos; "We bring back classic rock like Iron Butterfly and Bubblepuppy,....people can see that we are important entertainment" says Hagins "We're very educational....."
