Footage from three eclipses during 2014, all shot from NSW, Australia:
- Total Lunar Eclipse (April 15th) near Byron Bay
- Partial Solar Eclipse (April 29th) on the edge of the Blue Mountains
- Total Lunar Eclipse (October 8th) near Lithgow
This compilation includes "behind the scenes" sequences of me setting up equipment, some landscape/scenery footage, as well as time lapse and real time videos of the three eclipse events.
My home town of Sydney was mostly clouded out for all three (!) of these eclipses, so some last minute dashes out of town enabled me to obtain some usable shots.
Footage obtained with a combination of cameras and lenses, including the Canon 5D3 (w/ Magic Lantern) and 1100D, with focal lengths ranging from 14 mm to 500 mm. Behind the scenes time lapse were captured using a GoPro. Everything was compiled in Adobe After Effects.
Please follow us for more exciting footage, particularly into next year as we travel to Svalbard in the high Arctic (78 degrees N) for the total solar eclipse in March 2015!
