What captures your imagination, catches your breath, gives you tingles?
What can you not take your eyes (ears, fingers, lips) off of?
What if we turned it up?
Mugwumpin joins forces with acclaimed photographer Pak Han to bring your visions of lush beauty to life. Through a series of interactions with Mugwumpin performers, audiences are invited to delve into their appetite for the ravishing and sublime. This discussion inspires the artists to develop impromptu transformations and choreography, which Pak Han channels into a dual portrait of the artist and participant. But this performative manifestation of your beautiful ideal is amped up: more splendid, more plush, more saturated. Between you this and thing of beauty is a pulsating space, vibrating with energy. The performance moment, alive for only a brief time, results in a photographic image that becomes part of an ever-growing mosaic of beauty and grit.
