In this teaching, as Dr. Don G. Pickney continues to explore the character and nature of the "seven churches of Asia Minor," he gives a very graphic description of Jesus at the right hand of the Father God. He reminds us that Jesus was dependent upon the Father to reveal to Him details of His plan for the end of the age. Jesus had earlier gone on record to the effect that, during His Earth-walk even His own knowledge was limited, and no one knows the things of the very end concerning the times and seasons, not even the holy angels, but only the Father God.
Therefore, as the book of Revelation begins, Pastor Don want you to appreciate the wonder given to us as we have a ringside seat observing the Father God as He presents to Jesus past, current, and future things relevant to the Church. We see Jesus receive this revelation, then send and signify it by His angel to the Apostle John, who records for us all that was revealed to him.
Pastor Don takes us into the first three chapters of the book of Revelations. Unable to complete the series this week, he sets up the finale for next week by taking us into details of six of the seven churches of Asia Minor.
Imagine being in any one of the six churches dealt with in this teaching, and in each of these being told that to please the Lord Jesus, you will have to overcome some of the faults that were found in your church movement. One church, the Philadelphia church, which we will unveil next week, is the only church in which there was no rebuke, nothing to have to overcome in their major doctrines in order to please the Lord Jesus Christ.
Next week we will make a comparison of the Philadelphia church and the doctrines of the Word of Faith Church Movement. To the degree that their doctrines match up with the Philadelphia church, their movement will find pleasure with the will of the Lord. Not perfect, Pastor Don, next week, will touch on a couple of doctrines, slipped into the Word of Faith that you will need to overcome. But overwhelmingly, the Word of Faith most closely matches the Philadelphia church in their teachings.
Demonstrating the unique characteristics of each church, he reveals today's current church models by the models characterized by these churches. He reminds us that John revealed that there are seven spirits before the throne of God, each one carrying a particular type of anointing, as these spirits administer the flow of revelation and nature of their respective of the seven churches. In this manner, it was God’s plan that the Lord Jesus administer seven different separate administrations for his body on Earth, the Ecclesia or Church. No matter what level a Christian believer is willing to walk in with Christ, there is an administration of anointing set up to accommodate his/her growth in Christ as far as they are willing to go in Him.
He set it up this way in order that there be no “schism,” to eliminate the confusion that could develop within any one of these seven churches if an attempt was made to take them to a level they were unwilling to go. Seven separate spirits (anointings), carried by seven distinct angels on assignment to oversee each of these seven major church types. If you are in the Church, you are affiliating with one of these seven ecclesia (major local church models).
No matter the Christian Church in which you reside as a Christian, your church is being administered to by one of these seven spirits (angels) established when Jesus, as Lord Head of the Church began his administration over the Church, the Ecclesia (the body of Christ).
The purpose of the teaching is to build into all of us an appreciation for every denominational Christian group, as being part of Christ’s body, and especially in this series, also an appreciation for the Word of Faith Church movement. We demonstrate from where we came. Some think the Word of Faith came out of one or all of the Pentecostal denominations, i.e. Assemblies of God, Church of God, Four Square Gospel Churches, etc., or out of the charismatic renewal of the 1960s-70s. However, the fact is, the Word of Faith Church movement has its roots in a revelation found in the earlier roots of many of the main denominational entities, and taught by their founding fathers, but which was lost by their groups as they modernized into what we know of them today.
