This lens must have been designed by a painter. How else to explain the impressionistic swirly bokeh and crazy lens flare not to mention the rich vibrant colors?
I actually found the lens on accident when I was in a pawn shop looking for a zoom lens. Tucked away in the corner was an old Zenit 35mm camera with a lens attached. Upon closer inspection, I realized that it had a Helios lens on it. 5 minutes and $35 later, the lens was mine and I immediately started shooting with it. The result is this short video of cleaned up raw footage.
If this video doesn't convince you that old lenses very much have a place in today's digital age, nothing will. Enjoy and feel free to ask any questions in the comments section. I'll be happy to help!
