Moving Memories is a cinema themed reminiscence project supported by The Big Lottery Fund and the Norwich Town Close Estate Charity and forms part of a wider Heritage Lottery Funded project - Norfolk at the Pictures. The project was developed by Cinema Plus with support from the Norwich Archive Centre, Picture Norfolk, The Library Service, and a range of health care professionals including Age UK and the Norfolk & Suffolk Dementia Alliance.
The project uses materials collected and researched through Norfolk at the Pictures and aims to create a complete interactive resource around film and cinema for reminiscence and life story work in care homes and reminiscence sessions.
The project team trialled a pilot resource ‘At the Pictures’ in 2013-14, with a specific focus on films and cinemagoing. Through a process of further consultation and successful funding Cinema Plus are developing a series of further themed resources which will be made available through a website and as physical copies through Cinemaplus.
Resources will also be available to use at the new Screen Heritage Centre at Cinema City for visiting groups following the renovation of our existing education spaces (subject to a successful funding application to the Heritage Lottery Fund).
