This video performance by Louise Vind Nielsen was shown at the group exhibition "Direct Democracy - Let's imagine what hasn't yet come true" at Rum 46. By dissecting a voting booth symbolizing present Danish democracy, this video questions today's democracy as being well-functioning and being the right and final form.
In order for one to dissect democracy you have to imagine it as some kind of organism. Not as an institution, a symbol or a concept, but as an organism of living tissue. Or perhaps a dying or diseased organism. Normally, when you dissect an organism, it has recently died. The reason you dissect something is to get to the core of the organism, to understand it's behaviour, evolution and origin, and ways to treat possible diseases.
The video was also part of an installation.
