A short interview with Gavin Barr, a graduate from the University of Northumbria. A year after his graduation, he still lives with his parents and remains without a job. The solitude and sense of worthlessness was tangible during the interview. Misery seemed to ooze from his every pore and I was surprised he made it through the interview without breaking down into tears. Being around Gavin was a laborious marathon as I battled against his aura of worthlessness while also trying to capture it on film.
This short documentary looking at the pathetic existence of post-graduate life was made by me as part of a University project.
Gavin would like you to know he is now employed and has moved out of his parents house, although his meager existence is still surrounded by a haze of despair and unfilled purpose.
