This short film, about a HIV+ teen in crisis, placed 5th in a national short film contest sponsored by IndieProducer.net, was awarded Best Short, the Kodak Cinematography Award, and the Audience Award at the 2004 New Haven Film Fest, Best Regional Film at the 2003 Northampton Independent Film Festival, and Best Short at the 2004 HD Fest.
Luis, 13 years old and HIV+, will do anything to escape the bullying he receives at Pilgrim Island Homes. Moe, a local boat mechanic and mentor, helps Luis flee the remote island residential school, and then struggles with the consequences of his impulsive act. Shot on location in Cape Cod, during the blizzard of 2003.
