The Sheriff's Volunteer Mounted Patrol plays an important and unique role in keeping our communities safe. These volunteers conduct patrols on horseback across San Diego County.

Volunteers with the Sheriff's Volunteer Mounted Patrol must pass a horsemanship qualification test and undergo regular training. They are also required to attend team meetings throughout the year and volunteer at least six hours per month.
