Tuesday Meeting Reminder: Update on the I-77 South Express Lanes Project with slides

Today, we’ll hear from members of the consultant team assisting the North Carolina Department of Transportation with the development of the I-77 South Express Lanes Project. This transformative initiative proposes to widen the I-77 corridor from the South Carolina state line to I-277/Brookshire Freeway in Uptown Charlotte, adding express lanes to improve traffic flow and commuter reliability.

 

Joining us to provide an update on the project status and upcoming milestones are:

 

·   Felix Obregon, PE, is the newly appointed Division 10 Engineer for NCDOT. With over 21 years of experience, leadership roles in engineering and maintenance across a five-county region. He is a graduate of UNC-Charlotte and a registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina.

·   Jenny Noonkester, AICP, is the Regional Discipline Leader for Transportation Development at RS&H and the Project Manager for the I-77 South Express Lanes Project. Jenny brings nearly two decades of experience in transportation planning, NEPA studies, and public engagement. She holds degrees from NC State University and Florida State University.
