This webinar introduces the fundamental concepts of ACTUS (Algorithmic Contract Types Unified Standards) that are being proposed as an ISO standard. ACTUS defines a set of mathematical functions and operators and a well-defined set of event types, state variables and state transition rules that provide the necessary fundamental elements (“primitives”) to model the behavior and forward-looking cash flows of financial contracts. This set of core ACTUS algorithmic primitives is part of a methodology that is used to express existing (and new) types of financial contracts and their legal cash flow obligations, and which enables the consistent analysis of financial contracts spanning the wide range of financial products in use at financial institutions. This webinar is tailored to provide background for ISO/TC 68 members on ACTUS and the ACTUS methodology.
