After spending 10 years in the fields of industrial and pharmaceutical chemistry, Jeff Young decided to put his interests to better use and started working on Black Star Co-op Pub and Brewery. His position of head brewer entails many qualifications--mechanic, engineer, logistician, plumber and janitor. Jeff uses his background and understanding of flavor compounds and metabolic pathways to create, taste, and refine all the brews available at Black Star.
