The 2014 SQAN Studentships featured 14 projects that had a strong interdisciplinary component with a large potential for patient impact or opportunity to enhance current quality and safety initiatives in surgery.
This initiative's goal was to evaluate the effectiveness of the risk calculator is predicting complications in patients undergoing elective bowel resections at a community hospital. Analysis was done retrospectively and sensitivity, specificity and positive predictive values were calculated.
