Commissioned by Scottish Arts-in-Health charity, Hearts & Minds, I've spent the last year following the wonderful work of the Clowndoctors and Elderflowers who interact with poorly children and ladies and gentlemen living with dementia.
This film is part of Hearts & Minds 15 yr birthday celebrations, and they wanted a film that would enable them to better show exactly the kind of work they do. It can be difficult putting this all across in concise words.
I asked rapper Solareye (from Edinburgh Hip-Hop outfit, Stanley Odd) if he'd be interested in composing some rhymes for this film, to help the narration along. I'm delighted with the result, and feel it adds a lot to the piece.
Thankfully my past in music allowed me to add some background scores to his rhymes to enhance the mood and set the scenes.
This film was shot entirely on a Panasonic GH3, with nearly everything shot using the Leica 25mm f1.4 and Panasonic 12-35mm lenses.
