In a nod to Calvin & Hobbes, Anacortes filmmakers Lucas and Henry Holgeerts tell the story of 9 year old Matthew and his best imaginary river otter friend, Reg. Matthew and Reg discover their favorite place, The Lake, has be closed because of pollution. They go on a campaign to learn more and inform their community about the problem, so they can get back to their favorite swimming hole. And, by the way, Reg insists he said "watershed" not "watersled".
The talented Holgeerts brothers are students (Lucas - Western Washington University and Henry - Anacortes High School) and have formed their on film making company "Kalos Creative Services". This film was funded by Friends of Skagit Beaches through a grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology's Public Participation Grant Program.
