This three minute excerpt from our larger Streetfilm release "Zurich: Where People Are Welcome and Cars Are Not" presents all the information regarding Zurich's 1996 decision to keep the number of parking spaces fixed in their downtown. For 18 years they have not allowed one new parking space unless they have taken away one from a different area of the downtown. It has kept congestion to a minimum and transit use high, while car ownership for a wealthy city is relatively low.
