Trying to get over the mountain on a busy day, an eastbound vehicle train is lined into two sidings on the way up to wait for two downhill west bounds. An easy drive in the family car over Stevens Pass would take a couple of hours to get to Wenatchee on a nice day. For the crew on a BNSF freight train it could take up to several hours getting from Everett to Appleyard. This train will eventually end its trip in Chicago after several crew changes. First shot is looking up the Foss River canyon at MP 1730 as a "Z" train heads to the meet at East Skykomish, (looking down the Sky Valley). Later the action is at East Scenic where a manifest emerges from the west portal of Cascade tunnel toward the again sidelined V-train. The conductor gets out of the cab for a stretch as he watches the roll by. The guys exchange a bit of banter and report their visual inspection results to each train. The date is April 18th, 2010.
