"Black Hawk Powder" is a mechanically assisted series of action paintings that Wagenknecht started in 2007. She creates them with small-scale drone aircraft, and in the process, utilizes flight commands such as ‘barrel roll’, ‘take off’ and ‘land,' which are typical of UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles). The movement of the drone is determined by custom software written by the artist, or the drone is used as a brush-like apparatus.
