Linda LeDuc has a nursing background; she has spent most of her career working in the non-profit sector, with over 20 years specifically in the field of Alzheimer's and dementia. Linda's specialty is the development of education tools and programs; developing meaningful and helpful support for those living with disease and those who care for them.
Jennifer Hall is a wife, mother of two, grandmother of a 6 month old Molly, real estate agent and care partner of her husband, Tom to whom she has been married for 38 years. Tom was 51 when he began to have symptoms and was officially diagnosed with probable Alzheimer's disease in 2003 when he was 53 years old. Tom has been in a long term care home for 6 years and is in the latter stages of the disease.
Event summary: This session examines what is in the “invisible suitcase” brought on move day by the person, their caregiver and family members. With the "invisible suitcase” in mind, we explore how staff can provide support, with the goal of making the experience better for everyone.
