The Young Statisticians Committee, in collaboration with the Takwimu Young African Statisticians Programme, is organising the upcoming ISI Regional Webinar for Africa.
Event Abstract
In an era where evidence-based decision-making is crucial, statistics are a powerful tool for sustainable development in Africa. This webinar, a joint effort by the Takwimu Young African Statisticians Programme (Takwimu YAS) and the Young Statisticians Committee of the International Statistical Institute (ISI), will showcase innovative, applied statistical work by young African professionals. The event will highlight how these emerging statisticians are providing data-driven solutions to real-life challenges, aligning their work with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063. The session aims to promote the application of statistics, demonstrate their connection to key development agendas, and foster collaboration among young statisticians across the continent and internationally.
