This is a time-lapse video I shot last week. Its a drive from the Kingsway area of Derby to East Midlands Airport (short stay car park).
Rather than going there via the A50, this route takes you through Sinfin, Allenton, Chellaston, Swarkestone, Kings Newton.
00:00 Starting On Kingsway (A5111) at Kingsway Retail Park round-a-bout
00:05 Uttoxeter New Road junction (A516)
00:14 Onto Manor Road
00:18 Burton Road junction (A5250) onto Warwick Avenue
00:29 Right onto Kenilworth Avenue
00:33 Onto Osmaston Park Road
00:42 Right down Victory Road
00:53 Onto Merill Way
01:01 Right onto Chellaston Road (A514)
01:06 Becomes Derby Road
01:12 Becomes Swarkestone Road
01:22 Over A50 round-a-bout
01:32 Swarkestone Bridge. See my video http://youtube.com/watch?v=Jp4UvqDbcfo
01:49 Into Kings Newton village
02:15 Left into Isley Walton
02:33 Left into East Midlands Airport
02:36 Arrive at short stay car park.
The journey lasts 31 minutes in realtime.
Even though I only stopped in the car park for 50 minutes it cost £2.60 !!!
If the arriving flight was delayed any longer then I would have had to go over the hour and that would be a staggering £5.20
In 2004, East Midlands Airport was rebranded Nottingham East Midlands Airport, despite being in Leicestershire, and the nearest city being Derby.
This made a lot of people unhappy and caused a lot of confusion so it was changed back in 2006.
Just think, there is some idiot out there who actually came up with this idea of calling it Nottingham Airport, I don't know how they can sleep at night !

Hope you like the simple video.
I originally uploaded this video on the 2nd June but found horizontal lines on the video so deleted it and remade this version that has deinterlacing set to interpolate which has solved the problem.
