For several years we asked Santa for a "Votes for Women" federal trail, a suffragist memorial, plus approval and funding for the Harriet Tubman national park. The Harriet Tubman park was passed by Congress. We still want a national suffragist memorial, now in the planning stages for 2020. And it appears as if a national women's trail is in planning stages by volunteers. Why are we asking Santa? Because the U.S. Congress can't tie its shoes, let alone rally the much-needed level of support for the park and trail. As for the suffragist memorial project proposed by Turning Point Suffragist Memorial, that's up to all of us to support the idea and contribute. Images: Library of Congress. Music: Kevin MacLeod.
