CATBOX formed in 1994 by artist/musicians Robert Dibrell on drums, Lalena Fisher on bass, and Jack Livingston on guitar. In the short period of time they worked together they wrote numerous songs and released one limited edition lo-fi cassette.This is the only known video recording of CATBOX playing live. The performance was a part of DivereWorks Artspace performance series 12 Minutes Max,

When Fisher moved to NYC within a year she was replaced by three new members, the second incarnation, CATBOX (Mach 2) stayed together for another year. Fisher went on to play in a number of seminal bands in NYC including The Hissyfits and The Color Guard. Dibrell is current playing with a band in Houston, and Livingston moved to Baltimore where among other arts projects he has recorded solo music under the name "The Lamb Project". All continue in their careers as artists as well.
