"But That's a BOY Toy: Gender and Advertising in Engineering Toys," by Libby Banks
Legos are good for kids - there's evidence that block play can improve problem solving, enhance interest in STEM fields, and act an awesome tool for play therapy. However, the advertising for Legos has become more directed toward boys. We'll discuss the history of Lego advertising, why this matters, and what solutions people are coming up for the engineering toys gender gap.
