A film about the poetry and the practice of Contact Improvisation. Recorded at the International Contact Festival Freiburg 2014, in Freiburg, Germany.
Contact Improvisation was a performance experiment initiated in 1972 by Steve Paxton. It has been described as 'an evolving system of movement based on the communication between two moving bodies that are in physical contact and their combined relationship to the physical laws that govern their motion - gravity, momentum, inertia' (Nancy Stark Smith, 'Caught Falling'). This open-ended exploration in movement is now practised in many parts of the world. It is 'a way for people to come together and interact on a purely physical level' (Daniel Lepkoff).
