Cheasty Greenspace is located on the East slope of Beacon Hill, a few hundred feet from the Alaska Lightrail station. Only 3 years ago the ground and trees were completely over-grown with English Ivy - a non-native species. Then a few neighbors began to cut the ivy stems near ground level, pull-up the ivy roots and european blackberry vines, and make big "compost" piles of them. Slowly, this space is beginning to look like a really sweet wilderness-park you can walk through. What a few committed people can do, eh?
