While I was cleaning house I heard a crow squawking very loudly. I looked up and there were five little ducklings and the mother duck on my patio. They were peeking through the sliding glass door. I threw down my sponge and ran upstairs to get my camera. By this time the mother and her ducklings ran off. I was, however, able to capture a glimpse of them waddling around the corner (see video).
In the background I still kept hearing a crow squawking loudly. I looked around and spotted the black crow up in a tall palm tree. I don't know if the crow was talking to the ducks or calling another bird. I don't think crows eat ducklings. Well let's hope not. I've heard crows are highly intelligent.
I was a amazed how the Canon HV20 can zoom in from my patio to the black crow in the palm tree with clarity (even without a tripod).
