A young girl, inspired by Vincent van Gogh, wants to take impressionist painting lessons. She finds an old painter who lives in a shack in the woods, and begin taking lessons with him. The lessons became repetitive and laborious when she realizes that each lesson is only a slight variation of the previous, and that he never teaches her impressionist painting techniques. At the final lesson, he takes her outside to a lakeside scenic park. Only years later, did she realizes the importance and significance of that final lesson, and how it had changed her life. Based on a true story.
