Opposite Tangents is a research about the dynamics of circular movement.
The piece is also inspired by the imagined dream that Sir Isaac Newton might have dreamt after he was knocked out by a falling apple.
In this trio collaboration, between dance artists Lee-Anne Litton, Joshua Thomson and Alejandro Rolandi, the artists investigate ideas from Physics’ Laws of Motion, to develop movement patterns that enabled them to gather, dissipate and transfer kinetic energy from one to another.
Using orbital slingshots and circular momentum the performers recycle and amplify each other’s movements and trajectories to create complex gravity defying dance sequences that blur the boundaries between dance and aerial work.
Platform Short is a platform for presenting short dance works created by Annandale Creative Arts Centre.
