Holland Festival released its new graphic identity designed by thonik. The event has a strong tradition of graphic styles that reveals much about the history of Dutch graphic design. In 1995 Anthon Beeke removed some letters, in 2005 Maureen Mooren and Daniel van der Velden removed even more letters leaving only the HF intact.
We dared to take this approach one step further - we fused the H and F into a single ligature then inspired by Glaser’s 1970 stencil chopped further elements away to add strength and clarity.
The result is a whole new typeface.
