"Finding the Right Tools for the As-yet-to-be-determined Job." by Stephen Hal Fishman
A discussion of my attempts to try nearly every piece of filmmaking and graphics software I could get my hands on in the quest for the perfect set of tools. I've been at this the early 90s and I've had the opportunity to try a huge variety of hardware and software (from film equipment to analogue video machinery to software and digital hardware). I also give a little context about how useful/significant the gear was at the time and how it improved, expanded or hindered my work.
Stephen Fishman is an artist & filmmaker based here in Austin, TX. Although he does a lot of broadcast and longform work, he's most interested in live animated projections, interactive software-based gallery installations and the symbiosis of music, dance and projected video. "
