Filmed on location in Conowingo, Maryland.
This project was inspired by a lens adapter. The Fotodiox B4 to Sony E mount adapter would be used to place a Canon HJ40 14-560 lens with a built in 2x extender on a Sony FS700. We used the Fotodiox Pro Turbopack 9000 Power Pack to power the lens so that we could use the zoom and focus hand controls associated with the lens.
Some of the larger issues we discovered were that since lens was built for a ⅔” sensor, we would have to run the lens in 2x all the time to fill the APS-C Sony sensor. The lens had pretty clean optics down the center, but we found a fair amount of softness and chromatic aberration on the outside edges (best seen in the shots of eagles landing in the towers).
Timelapse was shot on a Sony A7s with a Zeiss 35mm f1.8 and the credits photos were shot on a Sony A99 with a Tamron 150-600 and a Sony 70-400 G2 with 1.4 extender.
