A Certain Geography was performed at the IMT gallery/London in July 2014 as part of the event "Forms Of Ventriloquism" curated by Maria Papadomanolaki.
For the performance, I am streaming live from outside the gallery space, walking my way back to the gallery.
Robin Rimbaud (aka Scanner) who has set-up inside the gallery with the audience, picks up my signal and improvises with it. I use my voice to share thoughts, give descriptions and my body to interact with surfaces. Scanner uses these incoming sounds to create textural or rhythmical layers and responds to, compliments my voice with moods and atmospheres. The audience participates in the last part of the performance by writing their thoughts, reflections on the front door of the gallery entrance. I complete the score by reading out loud their words before entering the space.
